HC Deb 19 March 1975 vol 888 c422W
44. Mr. Hoyle

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received objecting to the opening of a driving test centre for the Burnley area in Nelson.

Mr. Carmichael:

My hon. Friend has sent my right hon. Friend representations on behalf of the residents of Cobden Street, Nelson, and I have also received some from Pendle District Council and the Burnley and District Association of Approved Driving Instructors. The search for premises for a centre in Burnley continues. Meanwhile the centre in Cobden Street, Nelson, is needed to provide a driving test service in this district.
