HC Deb 17 March 1975 vol 888 c353W
Mr. Douglas-Mann

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will cease to conduct negotiations with the British Medical Association on behalf of the entire medical profession, in view of the fact that it has recently made redundant the only woman doctor whom it employs.

Mrs. Castle:

It is for the medical profession itself to decide on the nature of its own representative institutions. The Sex Discrimination Bill, now before Parliament, provides appropriate machinery for dealing with allegations of sex discrimination in employment.
