HC Deb 07 March 1975 vol 887 c535W
Mr. Hordern

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the average rents charged for tenants of New Towns Commission houses, and for tenants of new town development corporations.

Mr. John Silkin

For the year 1974–75, based upon average housing stocks during the year, the average annual rents per dwelling are estimated to be:

£
Dwellings owned by the Commission for the new Towns 208.66
Dwellings owned by New Town Development Corporations 241.30

These figures take no account of any differences which there may be in the age or composition of the respective housing stocks.
