§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Trade what is his practice regarding meeting, discussing and taking into account the views and opinions of private individuals and those other than representatives of organisations and public concerns, etc., when drawing up and framing legislation affecting the revision of company law; what is his particular practice regarding the interests of shareholders; and how many such individual persons have had their views and wishes acceded to during the past 12 months.
§ Mr. Clinton DavisI welcome the views of all those interested in company law reform, private individuals as well as representative organisations. All views received by my Department are taken into account in the current review of company law. My hon. Friend's final point does not arise as no companies legislation has been introduced in the last 12 months.
