§ Mr. Walter Johnsonasked the Minister of Overseas Development whether there has been any further extension of the Commonwealth Development Corporation's area of operations.
§ Mrs. HartI have recently considered a proposal by the corporation that it should take part, in association with the World Bank and Development Bank New Guinea, in an oil palm project which is designed to benefit smallholders in Papua New Guinea. Subject to the successful conclusion of the present negotiations with the Papua New Guinea authorities I would be prepared to approve an extension of CDC's operations in this area to enable it to assist in setting up this project.
