§ Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will make a further statement on improvements in the provision of help for elderly, sick people living on their own in Salford.
§ Dr. OwenA health care planning team has been formed by the Salford Area Health Authority (Teaching) to examine the provision of services for the elderly and to propose improvements. It includes representatives from the social services and housing departments of the local authority. Some improvements may result from a current review of the hospital admission and discharge policy for the elderly sick but developments which would depend on capital building schemes or additions to staff will inevitably be limited in present economic circumstances.
