§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will amplify his statement made in the House on 25th June (Official Report, Vol. 894, No. 145, Col. 449) about the Norwegian Government's take from the North Sea as compared with that proposed by the Government.
§ Mr. Harold LeverI have been informed by my right hon. Friend the Paymaster-General that, making allowance for all the uncertainties which operate when one calculates the effect of different tax systems, we believe that our overall take from tax and royalties from the North Sea is at least comparable with that of the Norwegians, and probably a little higher.
