§ 24. Sir J. Langford-Holtasked the Secretary of State for Energy what proposals 307W he has to ensure that the greatest amount of lubricating oil is further refined for use; and what savings in imports could be effected by such further refining.
§ Mr. John SmithThe recovery of used lubricating oil, where practicable, is encouraged in the interests of both the national economy and the protection of the environment. A number of collection schemes are in operation and re-refining facilities are being expanded. The scope for additional saving is estimated to be less than a quarter of a per cent. of national oil imports.
