§ Mr. Eyreasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will introduce legislation to prevent local authorities from offering less than market value when purchasing a house in private ownership when that local authority is simultaneously making alternative council housing available to the vendor.
§ Mr. FreesonI do not see that the question of legislation is relevant since I assume that the transactions which the hon. Member has in mind have been on an agreed basis between the vendor and the purchaser. If, however, he would like to elaborate the problem, perhaps he would write to me.
