Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what effect on funds for (a) public authority house building and (b) renovation of public authority housing in Wales has resulted from the recent Government review of public expenditure.

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced in his Budget Statement that council house building programmes would not be reduced. Funds for the improvement of local authority housing in 197576 remain as allocated to authorities before the beginning of the financial year.
