HC Deb 30 June 1975 vol 894 cc285-6W
48. Mr. John H. Osborn

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment in view of the decrease in orders for cavity wall insulation by 70 per cent., what steps he will take to implement his policy for the conservation of energy by encouraging the use of this method of saving fuel.

49. Mr. Gray

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he has taken to encourage the installation of wall cavity foam thermal insulation in domestic dwellings, in view of his policy of national energy conservation.

Mr. Freeson

All Government publicity on domestic fuel saving makes it clear that cavity-fill wall insulation, properly applied effectively reduces householders' fuel bills.

I outlined the steps taken to minimise the effect of relaxing building regulations for this process in my replies to my hon. Friend the Member for Stoke-on-Trent, Central (Mr. Cant) and the hon. Member for Cheadle (Mr. Normanton) on 19th June.—[Vol. 893, c. 513, 514.]
