HC Deb 30 June 1975 vol 894 c329W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will refrain from imposing further price controls on bread and other manufactured foods in view of the present low margin of profitability and the consequent detriment to the consumer in the long term.

Mr. Maclennan

In considering whether changes in price controls may be needed I have in mind the need to ensure that margins are sufficient to safeguard supplies and employment, and also the need to maintain effective action against inflation.
