asked the Secretary of State for Industry what steps he is taking to encourage industry in the West Midlands to make full use of financial facilities available to industry from EEC sources.

The financial facilities available to industry from EEC sources are for the most part for regiona, development purposes. However, my Department draws the attention of industry to any opportunities for EEC finance that arise. Substantial loans from the ECSC have been made to the National Coal Board for its collieries at Littleton and Trentham.
