Mr. Arnold Shaw

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has acted on the Ancient Monuments Board of England's proposals for screening the car and coach park at Goodrich Castle; and whether he will ensure that no similar cases of spoilation will occur in the future.

Trees have been planted by the county council in accordance with the scheme discussed with the Department in 1973. I am constantly vigilant to protect the surroundings of monuments in my care.
