The information available to my Department relates to the period to 31st March 1974. This is shown in the following tables, but I should point out that the areas of the local authorities shown in the tables bear little relation to those of the present authorities to which my hon. Friend's Questions refer. This is because of the effects of local government reorganisation which took place on 1st April 1974.
