§ Mr. MasonThe value of defence exports for the last calendar year is not readily available. However, the value of overseas sales of defence equipment in the financial year 1974–75 is estimated at £475 million; the provisional estimate for the current financial year is £560 million, which is the equivalent of 70,000–80,000 defence industry jobs in the United Kingdom. Details of individual orders are confidential and have been so regarded by successive Governments.
