§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Energy what is the price margin between oil and coal for power generation and industrial under-boiler heating in view of the Prime Minister's statement that the prices are now evenly matched.
§ Mr. BennIn respect of the cost of fuel for electricity generation, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer he received on 12th May 1975. The prices 21W of fuel, oil and coal for industrial use for the first quarter of 1975 show that while on average coal is about 20 per cent cheaper than oil, there is a significant overlap between high cost coal and lower cost oil.
