§ Mr. Nobleasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will now take steps to strengthen anti-dumping measures and to speed up their application, particularly in respect of textile and footwear imports.
§ Mr. Shore, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 16th June 1975. Vol. 434W 893, c. 339]. gave the following information:
Action against dumped or subsidised imports into the United Kingdom is governed by the detailed provisions of the Customs Duties (Dumping and Subsidies) Act 1969 and of the GATT Code. These powers are designed to deal with any cases of dumping and conform to our international agreements. I am ready to consider any application from industry, and as quickly as possible for antidumping action where it is supported by prima facie evidence of dumping and of material injury or the threat of it.
