§ Mr. William RodgersThe latest available figures show that the Ministry of Defence has about 104,000 Service and civilian married quarters in the United Kingdom. Of these some 6,600 are estimated to be vacant for various reasons—e.g., change of occupant, undergoing repair or modernisation, awaiting furnishing, in the course of disposal or awaiting redeployed units.
