§ Dr. SummerskillIn 1974, 804 prisoners serving determinate sentences in England and Wales declined to be considered for parole. We are hoping that the results of research into why some prisoners refuse to be considered will be published by the end of the year but they will not refer specifically to the experience in 1974.
