Mr. Mayhew

asked the Secretary of State for Defence (1) how many Royal Navy ratings living in married quarters in the United Kingdom have ceased to be eligible for rent rebate in consequence of the recent pay award; and what was the average amount of the rent rebates formerly payable, and the average net increase in pay resulting to these Service men from the pay award;

(2) how many RAF other ranks living in married quarters in the United Kingdom have ceased to be eligible for rent rebate in consequence of the recent pay award; and what was the average amount of the rent rebates formerly payable, and the average net increase in pay resulting to these Service men from the pay award;

(3) how many Army other ranks living in married quarters in the United Kingdom have ceased to be eligible to rent rebate in consequence of the recent pay award; and what was the average amount of the rent rebates formerly payable, and the average net increase in pay resulting to these Service men from the pay award.
