§ Q11. Mr. McElhoneasked the Prime Minister what response he has had from countries outside the Commonwealth to his initiative on commodities at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Conference.
§ The Prime MinisterThe proposals on commodities which I put forward at the meeting of Commonwealth Heads of Government at Kingston are being discussed with friendly Governments outside the Commonwealth, including other members of the EEC and OECD. Reactions to our proposals have been generally forthcoming. In particular, a high-level group has now been set up in OECD to analyse commodity problems with reference to various proposals, including our Kingston initiative.
