§ Mr. John FraserAt 12th May, 2,123 people were unemployed in the area covered by the Margate, Ramsgate and Sandwich Employment Offices and the rate of unemployment was 4.7 per cent. The corresponding figures for 13th May 1974 were 1,446 and 3.2 per cent. respectively. Rates of unemployment are calculated by expressing the numbers unemployed as a percentage of the estimated total number of employees, including the unemployed.
