§ Mr. John SilkinFor England and Wales, I estimate that the average increase in the domestic rate levied for local authority services in 1975–76 over the rate levied in 1974–75 is 23 per cent. If we take into account last year's special domestic rate relief scheme the increase in the average amount paid by domestic ratepayers is 34 per cent.
