§ Dr. GilbertThe ending of the transitional period will not affect the duty-free import allowances for travellers between EEC countries. Although customs duties between these countries will have been abolished, each country will continue to 59W charge excise duties and value added tax under its own arrangements, and the import allowances will provide reliefs from these charges.
