§ 33. Mr. Steenasked the Minister of Agriculture Fisheries and Food if he will introduce legislation to ban the use of polyvinyl chloride contained in polythene for food wrapping in the light of its carcinogenic properties.
§ Mr. StrangI am advised that polythene does not contain polyvinyl chloride. As to PVC, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer given to my hon. Friend the Member for Wood Green586W (Mrs. Butler) on 4th April 1974.—[Vol.871, c. 409.]
