§ Dr. SummerskillThe estimated expenditure relates to the conversion of the outer fence to a reinforced concrete wall including capping (£239,700); alterations and improvements to closed-circuit television and lighting (£46,000); and improvements to the alarm system (£70,000). These measures form part of the general strengthening of the dispersal prison system referred to in paragraph 140 of the Annual Report of the Prison Department for 1974.
