Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will publish in the Official Report the mileage allowance granted to civil servants in his Department and those institutions, offices and research establishments for which he is responsible, respectively, indicating variations for the different grades of seniority and type of car permitted.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesAll civil servants for whom the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland is responsible receive the rates laid down by the Civil Service Department, which apply irrespective of grade. The rate for a medium size motor car up to 1,750 cc is 9.4p per mile.
