§ Mr. Gordon Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many administrative staff are employed by the health boards as at the last current date by comparison with those who dealt with similar functions exercised by various bodies prior to the changeover.
§ Mr. William RossAt 30th September 1974 there were 11,193 administrative and clerical staff employed by health boards and the Common Services Agency for the Scottish Health Service. Direct comparison with the service which existed prior to reorganisation is difficult; but at 30th September 1973 there were 10,108 officers engaged on broadly similar functions, including 723 employed at that time by local health authorities and 84 by my Department.
