§ Mr. CroslandThe need to excavate this site—the thirteenth century extension of Wallingford Castle—depends on whether it is redeveloped in accordance with a planning application now before the local planning authority. If this application is granted I shall, with the advice of the Ancient Monuments Board, ensure that there is adequate time before redevelopment to allow full examination and recording of the site.
