§ Miss Richardsonasked the Secretary of State for Employment what will be the position of existing employees in jobs which it is decided should be dock work under the proposals for extending statutory regulation contained in the consultative document published in March.
§ Mr. FootI am aware that anxieties are being expressed by some employees who fear that they might lose their jobs. Their continued employment will, however, be safeguarded by our proposals for legislation and it is no part of our intention that their jobs should be put at risk.
