HC Deb 17 July 1975 vol 895 cc614-5W
Mr. Rifkind

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what effect the Government's new policy on incomes will have on the implementation of the salary increases to be paid to university teachers as a result of the recent arbitration.

Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will give an assurance that university teachers, who are due for a salary increase to take account of the cost of living, will not have their claim disallowed in full or part, bearing in mind that their salary settlements have hitherto conformed to the social contract.

Mr. Mulley

I would refer the hon. Members to the reply given on 16th July to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Stockport. North (Mr. Bennett).
