§ Mr. Gregor MackenzieMy right hon. Friend has the power to issue both general and specific directions to the Post Office under the Post Office Act 1969 and to the British Steel Corporation under the Iron and Steel Acts 1949, 1967 and 1969.
In addition my right hon. Friend has the power to issue specific directions to the Post Office under Section 3(2) of the Statutory Corporations (Financial Provisions) Act, 1974. This power is to be superseded by the provisions of Clause 1(11) of the Statutory Corporations (Financial Provisions) Bill 1975.
