§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he can estimate the number of men in the United Kingdom who now hold the degree of Bachelor of Education; and, of these, how many are employed as teachers.
§ Mr. MulleySince the introduction of the Bachelor of Education degree in 1968 some 8,000 degrees of this type have been awarded to men at teacher training establishments in England and Wales. About 6,200 men holding the degree are employed as teachers in maintained schools and other grant-aided establishments in England and Wales.
