HC Deb 15 July 1975 vol 895 c406W
Dr. Bray

asked the Lord President of the Council whether he will now arrange for an increase in the present allocation of 100 passes for research assistants allowed in the House of Commons, in view of the fact that 99 passes had been issued on 9th July.

Mr. Edward Short

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to passes for the House of Commons Library.

There is no limit to the number of passes for Members' research assistants wishing to use the Library services in Norman Shaw (North). So far as the main Library is concerned, only about 15 per cent. of those research assistants to whom passes have been issued regularly avail themselves of the facility. If there is evidence of any difficulty, I will certainly ask the Library Sub-Committee to look at the matter again.
