Mr. R. C. Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many cases of alleged dangerous driving involving foreign drivers there were in the periods 1971 and 1973; and how many of these cases actually appeared in a British court.
§ Dr. SummerskillI regret that this information is not available. My hon.430W Friend may have in mind reports of a survey by the Association of Chief Police Officers. I understand that this showed that in 41 police areas in England and Wales during the three years 1971–73 there were 754 cases of alleged reckless, dangerous or careless driving of foreign registered vehicles, of which 115 were dealt with by the courts.
