HL Deb 15 July 1975 vol 362 cc1246-7WA
Baroness MACLEOD of BORVE

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many Consumer Advice Centres are now in operation in the United Kingdom; how many will be working by the end of 1975; and what the total will be by the end of 1976.

Lord JACQUES

There are at present about 60 consumer advice centres, including mobile units, and there will be 80 by the end of 1975. As part of the programme of consumer protection measures announced in the White PaperThe Attack on Inflation (Cmnd. 6151) the Government are urgently dicussing with the local authorities a plan to increase this number by the end of 1976.
