HC Deb 10 July 1975 vol 895 c221W
Q34. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Prime Minister whether, in his stuuy of the Boyle Report, he will consider not proposing any salary increase to Members of Parliament, but allowing them to claim expenses on the same basis as the British delegates to the European Parliament.

The Prime Minister

No. It would not be appropriate to remunerate Members of Parliament on a basis determined by, and appropriate for service in, another parliamentary body.
