§ Mr. BoothThe latest available general index of retail prices in the United Kingdom, for May 1975, shows an increase of 62.2 per cent. since January 1972 and 249W the latest available index of average earnings of all employees in all industries and services covered, in Great Britain and seasonally adjusted, for April 1975, shows an increase since January 1972 of 72.7 per cent. Applying these increases to an earnings figure of £4,500 per annum gives figures of £7,299 and £7,772 respectively.
