Osbornasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will now review the question of the manufacture, distribution, and availability of Factor VIII to haemophiliacs, in the light of recent economies in public spending; and if she will consult with the other members of the EEC with a view to producing Factor VIII on a European scale.

§ Dr. OwenOur policy is to make the NHS self-sufficient in the production of Factor VIII as soon as practicable. I am satisfied that this policy is the best one in present circumstances and see no reason for modifying our plans.
