§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he can give an assurance that the second part of the university teachers' settlement, in accordance with the arbitration tribunal award, will be within the guidelines of the social contract at the time of the award, i.e., based on the cost of living for the year 1974–75 as set out in that award.
§ Mr. MulleyThe Board of Arbitration was not asked to determine how the increase in the cost of lioving between October 1974 and October 1975 should be reflected in university teachers' pay and their award did not do so.
