§ Mr. Joel BarnettNo. The economies of the regions are mainly affected by the Government's overall policies which are aimed at strengthening the economy of the country as a whole. In addition, the Government's regional policy aims to wipe out the unjust and wasteful disparities between different parts of the country both by a system of aids and incentives for development in the assisted areas and by the development of integrated regional strategies.
