asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will take steps to review the operation of the Electric Lighting (Classes) Act 1899 in respect of deposits demanded by electricity boards in lieu of possible future payment defaults.

I intend to raise this matter with the Chairman of the Electricity Council.
