Mr. John Daviesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what allowance he made for the effect of the capital transfer tax, the proposed wealth tax and the Community Land Bill on agricultural production in the United Kingdom in preparing the White Paper "Food from our own Resources".
§ 42. Sir David Rentonasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will examine ways of increasing the amount of capital available to the agriculture industry in order to offset the effects of increased taxation, including the capital transfer tax and the proposed wealth tax.
§ Mr. PeartThe Government announced in the White Paper "Food from our own Resources" that they were setting up a review of the effect of capital taxation on agricultural production. Any effect that the new taxation measures might have on the amount of capital available to the industry will form part of that study. which is now in progress.
