Mr. Oakes

The present Chairman of the Telford Development Corporation was appointed on 15th September 1971 for an initial period of three years. He has continued, and is continuing, to serve in accordance with the terms of his initial instrument of appointment.

My right hon. Friend's present proposals for the filling of vacancies on the board, which are currently the subject of confidential statutory consultations with the local authorities concerned, do not affect the chairmanship.
