§ Dr. GilbertMy Department regularly receives representations about the possible new road—not necessarily a motorway—between Manchester and Sheffield. The majority express opposition mainly on environmental grounds, but others see a new road as vital to the future prosperity of both South Lancashire and South Yorkshire.
