§ Mr. Parryasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on his recent official visit to the Liverpool Docks.
§ Mr. FootI visited Liverpool docks on 27th June and saw the determination of workers and management to improve still further upon the good record of the port over the past few months. Part of this determination is due to the knowledge that the Government are committed to tackle the long-standing employment problems of dockland, and I had useful discussions about the application 447W of the proposals in the Consultative Document "Dockwork" to the Merseyside area.
