§ 27. Mr. Bakerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what estimate he has made of the number of homeless people in the London area at the most recent date.
§ Mr. FreesonThere were 17,838 homeless people in London in temporary accommodation at the end of June 1974, the latest date for which figures are available. Local authorities have more up-to-date information, but I am not satisfied with either the speed or the reliability of the figures received. Action is now in hand to improve these.
