§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the estimated annual saving expected to be realised from the withdrawal of the Nimrod squadron from Malta.
§ Mr. JohnThe saving in annual costs will be in the region of £4.5 million at 1975 price levels. Substantial capital savings will also be made because the aircraft concerned have been withdrawn from the planned Nimrod refit programme.
