HL Deb 29 January 1975 vol 356 c557WA
Viscount BROOKEBOROUGH

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will make a Statement on the future of the second Strangford Ferry, in view of the fact that the existing vessel has broken down so often in spite of the efficiency and dedication of the crew.

Lord DONALDSON of KINGS-BRIDGE

The Northern Ireland Department of the Environment is at present looking into the possibility of acquiring a second-hand vessel which could be adapted for use as a standby ferry at Strangford.
